Featured in the exhibition
"The Art of War and Peace" in 2001-2002 at the American Visionary
Art Museum, Tom Duncan recreates his childhood memories of World War
II in Scotland where his hometown was the site of a German POW camp.
He moved to America in 1947 at the age of 7. Other subjects of his
mixed media constructions include his memories of Catholic school
and other childhood fantasies (e.g. "Tommy Playing Crucifixion up in
the Bronx")
