Andrew Edlin Gallery is
pleased to present Booth 529,
a group exhibition running concurrently with Outsider Art Fair Week.
Show dates are January 21 - February 1, 2003. Gallery artists
including Vahakn Arslanian, Tom Duncan, Paul Edlin, and Michael Ryan
will be featured along with some recent acquisitions, including two
works by Henry Darger.
Newly acquired pieces by Hans
Krüsi(1920-1995) will also be on view. Krüsi’s
current exhibit has been extremely well-received, thanks in part to
a feature
article by Edward Gomez in the Sunday New York Times on December 1.
Marc Lamy, an artist from Lyons who along with Krüsi has had a solo
exhibition at the Collection de L’art brut in Lausanne, will have
his elaborate drawings displayed for the first time in New York.
The gallery will also introduce the works of two artists for the
first time.
Rudy Rotter (1913-2001) was a dentist in Manitowoc, Wisconsin who
produced enough art during his life to fill an entire warehouse. Two
of his powerful wood bas-reliefs of Old Testament imagery will be in
the exhibit. Etta Ehrlich, a practicing psychologist, collects
unusual and antique bottles and places single words and short
phrases on them, reflecting her work which connects psychology with
Eastern meditation. |
